A meeting of Abbeydorney Bord na nÓg club will be held on Friday Friday 1st May @ 8.30pm to discuss and organize preparations for Lá na Gclub day on May 10th. All parents are welcome to attend - plenty help would be greatly appreciated.

Abbeydorney and Kilmoyley will have to meet again after both sides finished level with O'Dorney levelling matters in the dying minutes after trailing at half time Kilmoyley 2-7 O'Dorney 1-4 with Padraig Sullivan and Sean Young scoring two easy goals for Kilmoyley in the first half, with Abbeydorney rallying well in the second scoring 8 points to Kilmoyley's 2 points.

County Senior Hurling League Div 2: Abbeydorney 2-2 Ballyheigue 1-1 Venue Ballyheigue Wednesday 22nd April
This was our first game in the Div 2 of the Senior B League on Wednesday last and what a bad start for this Competition with no referee turning up and as if things were not bad enough the weather got from bad to worse in the second half with O'Dorney holding on to a very low scoring game with Barry Sheehan top scorer.
Both Teams agreed to our local referee Nigel Roche who had to blow up for full time of the match before time due to darkness and weather conditions.

Cúl Summer Camp for 2009
The Summer Camp Brochures for 2009 can now be downloaded from Kerrygaa website. The brochures are also available at The County Committee Office in Austin Stack Park , Tralee and will be distributed through all the Primary schools in the County over the next few weeks. Vhi Cúl Camps will take place during July and August at various venues as outlined on the brochure.
The camps will include a wide range of football, hurling and camogie activities, providing children with learning experiences in an environment of fun and enjoyment.
All range of football and hurling skills will be taught. Child will take part in skill competitions, fun games, mini leagues and blitzes. Activities will take place within a framework of total supervision.
The staff working on the Cúl Camps, are experienced, enthusiastic and quality coaches who have GAA qualifications.

The Finals of the North Kerry Senior A & B League will be held in Abbeydorney on Monday 20th April, Abbeydorney will meet Kilmoyley in the Lee Strand A League Final at 8pm and this will be preceded by Senior B League Final Ballyduff vs Causeway @ 6.30pm, Admission will be €7. for both games.

Croke Park Date for Allianz National Football Finals

The Croke Park date for Allianz National Football League Div 1 and Div 2 will be a double header on Saturday 26th April, Kerry will play Derry in the Div 1 Final @ 4pm and Cork will play Monaghan in the Div 2 Final @ 2pm. Please note that this match is an all ticket match with tickets costing

County Under 16 Hurling League: Abbeydorney 4-12 Dr Crokes 1-14 Venue Abbeydorney Tuesday 14th April.
Abbeydorney had their third win in the County U 16 Hurling League on Tuesday evening last. O'Dorney led at half time 2-4 to Dr Crokes 1-5 . O'Dorney added 1-7 in the second half and will play Dr Crokes again in the second round next Tuesday away.

North Kerry Intermediate League: Abbeydorney 4-10 Causeway 4-10 Venue O'Dorney Wednesday 15th April.
Abbeydorney Intermediates had a good result on Wednesday night last despite starting poorly they came more into the match in the second half with a powerful performance from Barry Sheehan who moved to full forward, Causeway had two goals in 5th & 6th minute of the first half they led at half time 2-5 to 1-3 with Ian Maunsell goal the first score for Abbeydorney and points by Tim Fealy 0-2 and John O'Sullivan 0-1. Causeway's Padraig Harty was having a good game at midfield and he struck for Causeway's third goal. Barry Sheehan who had a very good second half rattled the net for O'Dorney followed by two more goals by Tim Fealy who was very unlucky not to get another in the dying minutes with both teams happy with a draw.The play off in this Intermediate game is down for Monday 27th April vs. Causeway venue Causeway.

Causeway 5-15 Abbeydorney 1-7 Venue Causeway Sunday 19th April
Abbeydorney suffered their second heavy defeat on Sunday last to a more balanced Causeway side with Chris McCarthy playing very well in the first half, Causeway led 1-8 to O'Dorneys 1-3. Causeway's lively Colm Harty getting their goal in the 15th minute and ODorneys goal coming in the 29 minute. Causeway dominated in the second half adding 3-6 with an excellent goal from Tommy Barrett in the 2nd minute with Colm Harty and Paul McGrath and Harty again in the 21st minute to rattle the net again for Causeway. Daniel O'Leary added 2 points and a good point from Mike McCarthy was Abbeydorney final score for the second half.

Abbeydorney showed a big improvement against Crotta O'Neills on Friday night last from their three last games, They missed several scoring chances, but all 18 players tried very hard, best players were Michael Slattery, Cian McCarthy, Cillian Spillane, Niall O'Mahoney, Ronan Donovan, David Hennebery, David Scanlon, David Egan.

North Kerry U16 Hurling League: Abbeydorney 4-9 Lixnaw 1-11 Venue Lixnaw Tuesday 7th April
Lixnaw played with the aid of a very strong breeze in the first half and were up 0-10 to O'Dorneys 1-2 with O'Dorneys goal coming from Brendan O'Leary and points from Daniel O'Leary.
Abbeydorney had the advantage of the breeze in the second half with goals from Stephen O'Connor, Mike and Daniel O'Leary with 4 points on the trot from Brendan O'Leary, Daniel O'Leary 0-2, Stephen O'Connor 0-1 despite some good saves from Sean Siles Lixnaw Keeper.

Abbeydorney played well on Wednesday evening last with a goals from Ger Baker at corner forward with points from Tim Fealy 0-3 and Ian Maunsell 0-2 and Crotta O'Neill's scores coming from Sean Toomey 0-2 and Pete McGrath 0-1 and a goal by John O'Mahoney.
Abbeydorney added 3 more goals in the second half from Tim Fealy 2 and Ger Baker 1 with two good points from PJ Ryan and Mark Callaghan and 2 pointed frees from Tim Fealy.

North Kerry Minor Hurling League: Ballyheigue 4-15 Abbeydorney 0-12 Venue Abbeydorney Sunday 12th April.
Abbeydorney played Ballyheigue in the first round of the North Kerry Hurling League on Sunday with Abbeydorney playing with the aid of a slight breeze with Ballyheigue getting off to a better start with two well taken goals Tomas Casey in the 4 and 5 minute of the first half with O'Dorney bringing Ballyheigue back to 1 point midway through the first half, Ballyheigue pulled back with points from Shane Dunne and Mark Regan. At Half time Ballyheigue lead O'Dorney 3-5 to 0-8 with O'Dorneys points from Daniel O'Leary 0-4, Brian Leen 0-2, Daniel O'Mahoney and Jason Fealy 0-1 each.
Ballyheigue upped the pressure on O'Dorney who were very sluggish for this game in the second half with a great goal from Pa O'Regan in the 25 minute but they had play well wrapped up at this stage with Shane Dunne and Tomas Casey and Gary Galway to help them out. Abbeydorney best player was Mike McCarthy who started at half back and moved to Centre back and a young corner back playing well was Alex OMahoney.

Todd Nolan Memorial Tournament
The second year of the Annual Todd Nolan Minor Hurling Blitz tournament was held at both Kilmoyley and Abbeydorney venues on Saturday 4th April, Four outside teams entered this excellent competition and we had some excellent hurling from the Rebel County Cork who ran out with the A side of this tournament playing Limerick in the Final in Abbeydorney. In Kilmoyley Kerry played Tipperary in the B Competition and Kerry won this final on a score Kerry 2-8 Tipperary 0-8. Westmeath also entered the Competition and were very unlucky not to be in the A Final with a last minute free going against them. Corks full forward Stephen Moore Middleton was Player of Tournament which was presented by Tom O'Connor Chairman of Hurling Steering Committee, Richard Nolan Presented the Todd Nolan A Cup to Corks Captain
Kerry who were holders of the A Tournament in 2008 and settled for the B Competition on this occasion. Thanks to the Nolan Family Kilflynn for this Excellent Tournament also to all teams for traveling the long journey.

Abbeydorney and Lixnaw clashed in the first round of the NK Intermediate League underlights on Wednesday Night Last both sides were even enough with ODorney leading at Half Time 0-6 to 0-5 with Abbeydorneys 2 halfbacks Danny McDonagh, and David Doyle playing excellent hurling. In the second half Abbeydorney held out to win by just 1 point. Lixnaws best players were Paudie Lyons, JP O'Connell and Martin Stackpoole.

Abbeydorney had a easy win over Crotta O'Neill's who were short plenty of players for this NK Senior game with O'Dorney well ahead at half time 3-5 to 1-2, with Abbeydorney adding 10 more points in the second half.
