Bord na nÓg AGM
The Bord na nÓg AGM of Abbeydorney Club was held on Friday night last with a very turnout with the usual members turning up with the following officers elected for 2009.
Chairman Michael Leahy, Secretary Kathleen Hayes, Registrar Maureen Spillane, Treasurer, Denise Sullivan.

U8 Skills Competition
An under 8 hurling skills competition was held from September through the winter months in St Senans Gaa indoor facilities, The Competition was run over two nights with the following results 1st Adam Maunsell, 2nd Cillian Spillane. 3rd Jack Sheehan. 4th Michael Slattery. also receiving medals were Dean O'Brien, Oisin Maunsell, Shane Byrne, Jack O'Hara Parker, Jamie O'Donnell, Sean Murphy, Oliver Hart, Shane Donovan, Eoin McCarthy, Eoin O'Connell, Stephen Moore, and Caoimbe Spillane, We would like to thank Maurice Leahy for presenting the medals, also thanks to Tom O'Connell who took the time to oversee and prepare this Competition.report by Maureen Spillane.

Minor Team Fun Day out Paint Ball at Tralee
Abbeydorney Minor team had their well earned day out last Saturday at the Paint ball shooting range with sore bodies after their day out with all players having a great dayout.

North Kerry Hurling Board Bord na nÓg AGM
The North Kerry Hurling Bord na nÓg AGM will be held on Thursday 29th January with the venue changed to Abbeydorney Gaa Clubhouse @ 8.30 pm .

Kerry Captain
Kerry Senior Football Captain for 2009 will be Darren OSullivan also Mossie O'Carroll Limerick will be Kerry Senior Hurling Manager for 2 years.

Munster Council Grants
The Munster Council Grants presentation night is on Tuesday 3rd February at Kerins ORahillys Gaa Clubhouse.

6 Monthly Draw
A reminder to all our club promoters that our Gaa Club 6 Monthly draw will be held next Sunday 1st February please have draw books in by 9pm.

Advanced Hurling Coaching Course
On Saturday the 28th February a advanced Hurling course will be held in the Mercy Mount Hawk School Tralee. This Development of under age players to Minor level will be presented by National Director of Hurling Paudie Butler. Also in attendance will be George O'Connor, Donnie Buckley, Pat Flanagan and Maurice Leahy all clubs are requested to send their best coaches to this coaching session.

Vocational Schools Semi Final: Causeway C.C 4-15, Borrisokane College 2-2 ( Local Player Chris McCarthy captain at fullback) Please note that the final for this competition is down for next Wednesday 28th January with Rathkeale the Venue again.

Juvenile Presentation Night
A large turnout of Juveniles and Parents last Friday nights for Bord na nÓg Awards to all players with Darragh O'Connell making presentations. Michael Leahy in-coming Chairman introduced all players on the night with some nice trophies on display, lets hope this year will be even more successful.
Awards went to Players of the Year:
Under 11 David Egan.
Under 12 Michael O'Leary.
Under 13 John Shanahan and Michael O'Leary (Joint).
Under 14 Brendan O'Leary.
Under 15 Daniel O'Leary.
Under 16 Chris McCarthy.
Special Achievement Awards for playing with Kerry 16s and Munster Interdivisional went to Daniel O'Leary, Chris McCarthy, Stephen O'Connor, Daniel O'Mahoney. Well done to all the parents that turned up on the night.
Bord na nÓg AGM will be held next Friday 23rd January at GAA Clubhouse at 9pm. All welcome to attend.

A meeting of the GAA Club Ex-Committee will be held on Tuesday next 20th January @ 8pm

GAA Social
The GAA Social Committee Members will be calling to all houses over the 2 week. The Social will be held on Saturday 31st January.
Music by Celebrations and Disco by Big Jim. Tickets cost €30.
Medal Presentations will be made to Minor team who completed a treble win last year County League, NK Championship and Minor County Championship.
Tickets are going nicely for this event so book them early.

North Kerry Hurling Board AGM
The NKHB AGM will be held on Thursday 22nd January at Ballyheigue new Clubrooms at 8pm. Also The Annual General Meeting of the NK Coiste na nÓg Sub Committee will be held on Thursday 29th January at Kilmoyley Community Centre at 8.30pm.

First County Committee Meeting
The first meeting of Coiste Chiarraí in 2009 will be held on Monday next 19th January in the Pavilion Austin Stacks, Tralee at 8pm. Also a Coiste na nÓg meeting will be held in the Manor West Hotel on Tuesday January 20th at 8pm

GAA 125 Years Spectacle Event 31th January
The Celebrations marking 125 years of the GAA commence in Croke Park on Saturday 31st January with the start of Allianz NFL pre match entertainment starts at 18.30 with Dublin taking on Tyrone under lights at 19.30.
Tickets can be purchased from Ticketmaster stand €20 or log onto www.gaa.ie for more details.
Also Gaa Seasonal Tickets €75 are also on sale on this site .

Juvenile Trip to Dingle (Play at Heights)
The U12 and U14 Hurlers had a good trip on Saturday 3rd Janurary with over youths traveling to Dingle to have a day out at Play at Heights with all having a good day climbing walls and poles, All Pictures will be posted on website www.abbeydorneygaa.com photo gallery Play at Heights. Many thanks to Bus Driver James Ryall and TJ McElligott, Brendan Shanahan, Liam McCarthy, and Mike Leahy for helping out with the youths on the day.
