Abbeydorney minors held Causeway to 0-7 to 0-1 at half time with Jason Fealy scoring Abbeydorney's point. A goal by Colm Harty, Causeway in the 4th minute and Causeway added points to finish with 1-10 in the second half with Abbeydorneys scores coming from Brian Leen 0-5 frees and Daniel O'Leary 0-1.

North Kerry Under 14 Hurling League: Abbeydorney 6-6 Kilmoyley 2-6 Venue Abbeydorney on Tuesday 21st July
Colm McCarthy struck for Abbeydorney's opening goal in the first 5 minutes and Michael O'Leary scored the other 2 goals with his long solo runs at Kilmoyley defense before half time Abbeydorney were up 3-1 to 1-5 with Jordan Brick and Niall Meehan and Robert McElligott scoring for Kilmoyley.
Abbeydorney had the advantage of the slight breeze in the second half and started with a goal and 2 points from Michael O'Leary, Ronan Donovan and Darragh Scanlon and Michael O'Leary finished with points for Abbeydorney.

County Intermediate Hurling Championship: Abbeydorney 2-11 Ladys Walk 0-5 Venue Abbeydorney Tuesday 21st July.
Two goals by Tim Fealy and Paul McElligott in the first 15 minutes set up O'Dorney for the remainder of this match and finished with points from Tim Fealy 0-3, Tony Manuel 0-2, Ian Maunsell 0-2 and PJ Ryan 0-1. O'Dorney 2-8 Ladys Walk 0-4.
In the second half we had the aid of the breeze and added 3 points from Tim Fealy and Ger Baker (0-2). We will now play Ballyheigue in the semi final after Ballyheigue defeated Causeway 3-8 to 2-9.

Credit Union County Senior Hurling League: Crotta O'Neill's 0-18 Abbeydorney 1-9 Venue Dromakee on Saturday 25th July.
Crotta were much sharper up front with the aid of a strong breeze in the first half up 0-10 to ODorneys 0-4 with Darragh O'Connell and Brian Donovan 0-2 each with Matt Lynch scoring 7 points for Crotta in the 1st half.
Abbeydorney's depleted outfit added 5 points from Darragh O'Connell and a good score by Damien Ryall in the 7th minute failed to lift the team. Andrew and Francis Keane and Matt Lynch finished with points for Crotta.

North Kerry Under 12 Hurling Blitz
Abbeydorney Under 12 team had a good day out at Ballyduff on Saturday last. They beat Ballyduff 4-3 to 0-5 and also defeated St Brendan's 4-6 t to 1-3. Even though they lost to Crotta 2-3 to 5-5 they still qualified to the final and lost to a very good balanced Crotta side. Well done to Ballyduff for a good day out for our under 12 Hurling Blitz.
Please note that the second round of the north Kerry hurling Blitz under 10s will be held next Saturday in Ardfert at 10.30pm.

Ballyduff went into a 6 point lead after 15 minutes of the first half with scores from their half forward line Pat Joe Connolly and Junior White and O'Dorney replied with points from Brian Leen and Mike McCarthy and 2 from Daniel O'Leary. Ballyduff stretched the lead to 10 points at half time to O'Dorneys 0-6.
Two goals in the second half on the 4th minute and 11th minute by Padraig Boyle for Ballyduff but Abbeydorney battled away and Brian Leen struck for a goal in the 18 minute and 3 second half points from Brian Leen and 1 each from Daniel O'Leary and Stephen O'Connor and Ballyduff had 3 points in the second half.

: Abbeydorney 2-18 St Brendan's 4-11 Venue Abbeydorney Tuesday 14th July.
Abbeydorney and St Brendan's served up a very high scoring match on Tuesday evening last with St Brendan's going in at half time 2-6 to O'Dorneys 0-11 points with St Brendan's goals coming in the 21st and 28th minute in the first half.
In the second half Abbeydorney kept adding their points with 7 in total to St Brendan's 0-5 but St Brendan's had 2 well taken goals midway through the second half and Abbeydorney rallied right up to the final whistle with a Darren Sullivan Goal to win by a point and force a 3 way play off between Lixnaw, St Brendan's and Abbeydorney.

North Kerry Under 16 Hurling Play-off: Abbeydorney 0-14 Lixnaw 1-8 Venue Lixnaw on Friday 17th July
Abbeydorney went in at half time up by the minimum of 1 point O'Dorney 0-9 to Lixnaws 1-5 with Damien Kissane scoring a goal for Lixnaw on the 23rd minute of the first half.
Abbeydorney played much better in the second half than when they last played Lixnaw a week ago and made amends for losing that game with 2 points each from Daniel O'Leary and Stephen O'Connor and 1 from Michael O'Leary. Lixnaw battled right to the end and were denied with a good save from Barry Horgan.

Darragh O'Connell struck for a goal from a free midway through the first half from a free with both sides trying to play in the wet slippery conditions and ODorney lead at half 1-7 to 0-8.
In the second half Michael Hannifin kept ODorney in the lead with points also from Darragh O'Connell who finished with 1-6 in total, Best Players Darragh O'Connell, James O'Connor, Mike Hannifin .and we wish William O'Leary a speedy recovery after his injury in this match.

Tom Lawlor Chairman of North Kerry Hurling Board Presents the Intermediate Cup To Barry Sheehan Abbeydorney Captain

North Kerry Intermediate Championship Final 2009: Abbeydorney 2-11 Causeway 2-10 Venue Ballyduff Wed 15th July.
A goal and 2 points in the opening minutes by Corner forward Barry Sheehan gave Abbeydorney the ideal start to this North Kerry Intermediate Championship Final in Ballyduff on Wednesday night last.
Causeway free taker was off form with the first few frees and O'Dorney went in at half time up 1-6 to Causeways 0-5 with Tim Fealy adding 2 frees and PJ Ryan and Bill Maunsell finishing with points for O'Dorney and Causeway's Jason Leahy was their top scorer in the first half.
Causeway added 3 points from Jason Leahy and were coming more into the game in the second half while Tim Fealy pointed 2 frees for Abbeydorney and Causeway struck for a well taken goal in the 17 minute of the second half to give them a 1 point lead.
Abbeydorney introduced 3 subs in the second half and the fresh legs paid off as we had a number of players going down injured. O'Dorneys goal coming a vital time in the second half from a long range free. Barry Sheehan and Sub Paul McElligott scored 2 good points to bring Abbeydorney back into the lead and Causeway levelled matters in the dying minutes, both sides battled hard to the finish and O'Dorney were awarded a free in the last minute and O'Dorneys free taker Tim Fealy made no mistake planting it between the posts to win by 1 point.
After the match Tom Lawlor presented the Cup to Abbeydorney's Captain Barry Sheehan and also Kathy Maunsell c/o Clubhouse Bar presented the Man of the Match Award to Abbeydorneys Full back Diarmuid Ryan. Abbeydorney last won this trophy back in 2003 and our next game is in Abbeydorney next Tuesday vs. Ladys Walk.

Croke Park Trip

On Tuesday last 56 members traveled to Dublin with our under 12 hurlers getting a chance to play in Croke Park Surface, We had 3 games on the day and also a visit to the Gaa Museum, we had a great day out thanks to our Bord na nOg Club for treating our under young hurlers of the future with a day out and lets hope they will get a chance to play their again.

Kilmoyley and Abbeydorney clashed again in the replay of the North Kerry Senior League Final on Wednesday last with Kilmoyley first to score from the throw in with a point from Michael Regan and Abbeydorney responded with 3 points from PJ Keane , Darragh O'Connell and Nigel Roche and Kilmoyley added 2 from Michael Regan and 4 from Sean Maunsell at corner forward who was Kilmoyley's best player on the night and Brian Donovan had 2 points before half time.
Kilmoley 0-8 O'Dorney 0-5.
Abbeydorney levelled matters on the 14 minute with points from Brian Donovan 2pts and Michael Hannifin and Kilmoyley responded with 3 points from Sean Maunsell and Abbeydorney took the lead on the 22nd minute with 3 points from Brian Donovan Michael Hannifin and Darragh O'Connell and both teams finished with 0-14 apiece.
In extra time of the first half and ODorney with 2 points from Darragh O'Connell and ODorney went further ahead with a goal from Brian Donovan and went into a 6 point lead and Kilmoyley introduced Andy McCarthy who struck for a goal on the 6th minute and Kilmoyley rattled ODorney with points from Billy Brick Sean Maunsell and Brendan Harris who pointed 2 frees in the end to deny Abbeydorney who let this game slip away in extra time.Best Player from Abbeydorney was Brian O'Leary, and Sean Maunsell from Kilmoyley who was Man of Match.

Abbbeydorney went in at half time up 0-8 Lixnaws 1-4 with Daniel O'Leary addeding 0-5 Stephen O'Connor 0-2 and Michael O'Leary 0-1 and Lixnaws Rickie Heffernan in top form for Lixnaw at Centre Forward.
Abbeydorney lost Centre back Stephen O'Connor at half time due to an injury from the throw in and were under constant pressure with Lixnaw scoring 2 goals in the 14 and 23rd minute but Abbeydorney kept plugging away with lixnaw finishing with 6 points to spare.

Played in very blustery conditions on Saturday evening last Abbeydorney scored 2 goals in the first 5 minute from Nigel Roche and Darragh O'Connell and points from Michael Hannifin 0-2, Darragh O'Connell 0-2, Brian Donovan 0-1, and Ballyheigue had Ronan Kenny and Brendan OSullivan had 2 points for Ballyheigue H/T 2-5 to 0-2.
Ballyheigue added 7 points in the second half with the breeze behind them from Jason Griffin, Ronan Kenny, Brendan OSullivan and Shane Dunne while ODorney had 2 points from Brian Donovan and Nigel Roche.This was Abbeydorneys first win in the County League.

Croke Park Trip
On Tuesday next the 7th July we will make the long journey to Croke Park with an early morning start at 6.30am, we will have plenty supporters on the day with a full bus travelling up for the day, and we hope all the supporters and players enjoy the trip to the museum as well.

The 2nd round Senior Football Qualifiers draw made on Sunday 5th July was Longford vs Kerry with the away to Longford which will played next Saturday 11th July, venues and times to be confirmed on Monday 6th July.

A goal in the opening minute of the North Kerry Intermediate Championship Semi Final, points by Ian Maunsell, Bill Maunsell, PJ Ryan and 2 from Barry Sheehan had O'Dorney going in at Half Time 1-5 to Kilmoyleys 1-6 with Kilmoyleys goal coming in the 24th minute from Conor Stokes and points from Andy McCarthy, Sean Maunsell, Adrian Ryle and Sean Griffin.
The second half was score for score with Barry Sheehan getting his second goal on the 14th minute but Kilmoyley replied with a goal immediately after the puck out and O'Dorney holding out to win by 2 points.
