VHI Cul Camps
The VHI Kerry Cul Camps will be held this week in Abbeydorney front Monday 26th July - Friday 30th July starting at 10.30am-2.30pm all children welcome 7-13years.

North Kerry Under 10 Hurling Blitz
The John O'Gorman Memorial North Kerry Hurling was a very successful blitz for Abbeydorney under 10 hurlers who won their second trophy of the year in ardfert on Thursday night last in ideal pitch conditions, Abbeydorney lost its first game to Causeway and won next two games against Ballyheigue and Crotta O'Neill's and were in the final versus Causeway where ODorney boys produced their best hurling, killian Spillane was Captain on the day,

Two goals by Aaron Sheehan and a Paul Cullhane point kept Crotta ahead at half time 2-1 to ODorneys 0-5 from Stephen O'Connor 0-2 Mark Callaghan, Chris McCarthy and Daniel O'Leary 0-1 each,
Abbeydorney introduced sub Tony Cunningham after half time and he scored two goals to turn this match in a low scoring match with slippery conditions after a rain shower.

Ballyduff rattled Abbeydorney with four goals in the second half but Abbeydorney added four points from Michael O'Leary to win this match.

AIB County Senior Hurling Championship
Abbeydorney Senior hurlers put up a brave performance against hot favorites Kilmoyley on Saturday night last at Austin Stacks Park at half time Kilmoyley were ahead 0-7 to 0-3 two frees from Darragh O'Connell and a point from Nigel Roche, Kilmoyley had Sean Maunsell 0-4 frees Michael Regan and Tom Murnane and Eoin Sheehy 1pt each .
In the second half Kilmoyley were up 0-9 to 0-4 when ODorney were awarded a penalty when Kieran Hannifin was pulled down and Darragh O'Connell made no mistake with his shot with both sides battling it out from here on, Shane Brick Made the difference when he was put on adding four points and points from Shaun Young, Colin Harris and two from Sean Maunsell, Abbeydorney subs Kieran Hannifin and Chris McCarthy made a big difference to our forward line, Best Players Kieran Dineen, Kieran Hannifin, and Brian O'Leary.

On Friday 23rd July St Brendans vs. Ballyheigue and on Sunday a double header at Austin Stacks Crotta ONiells vs.Causeway and Ballyduff vs. Lixnaw.

U8 and U10 Hurlers Trip to Sarsfield GAA Club County Cork.

The Abbeydorney U8 and U10 hurlers travelled to Sarsfield hurling club on Saturday last for a challenge match. The hurlers left Abbeydorney at 9 o clock on Saturday morning. The children and their families travelled by bus to Glanmire Co Cork. Michael and Sìobhan Treacy greeted the children and mentors on their arrival to the Sarsfield grounds. Michael Treacy played hurling for Abbeydorney at all levels for a numbers of years and now his son Patrick is playing for Sarsfield in Cork. The match was played in four quarters with 15 minutes a quarter. The Abbeydorney boys played against the breeze the first quarter and at the end of this period Sarsfields were up by two points. The Abbeydorney boys fought well throught out the match and going into the last quarter the Sarsfield boys were up by six points. The Abbeydorney boys with the breeze to their backs for the last period and all the team battled hard to draw with them when the final whistle blew. The Cork boys were a very well balanced side but all the Parents and mentors of the Kerry boys were very proud of the display the Kerry side showed.
After the match the Sarsfield club took all the boys and girls to their clubs house for refreshments. From there the bus made its Journey to Mallow were all the children went to Little Rascals and had two hours of playtime. The families were then taken to the Hibernian Hotel Mallow were they all had Dinner. The Bus then made its Journey back to Abbeydorney.
All children, Parents and mentors had a fantastic day. We would like to Tony Maunsell, Timmy Spillane, Barry Sheehan , Mickey Leahy and all the parents for helping out on the day. A special word of Thanks to Michael, Sìobhan and their family for helping to set up this match for the children.also to Sarsfield Gaa Club , and James Ryall Bus Driver, Last but not least a specials word of thanks to Tony Maunsell for setting up the game, booking little rascals and the hotels.

Christy Ring Final: Westhmeath 2-16 Kerry 1-18 Venue Croke Park.
Kerry and Westmeath hurlers put up a great performance in Croke Park on Saturday last with the teams level on 6 occasions, both teams level in injury time and Westmeath put over a point with time up, this was Westhmeath third attempt over the last few years and they finally made it in the end, Local Player Darragh O'Connell scored some excellent points from frees and play, Aidan Healy played at left half back and Brian O'Leary was a sub, Kerry supporters must be complimented for their support on the day also, and finally hardluck to the Kerry team and Management.

Abbeydorneys young hurlers played very well in the North Kerry Under 10 Blitz on Wednesday Night last in very wet conditions, Abbeydorney won the Group 1 and Causeway won the Group 2, Tommy O'Connor PRO NK Hurling board presented the Eddie Godley Memorial Trophy to Eoin McCarthy, Thanks to all the Clubs and Referees that attended on the night.
