North Kerry Board Chairman Tom Lawlor Presents the Jimmy Walker Memorial Shield to Joint Captains Simon Egan and Brian O'Leary

Abbeydorney Minor Team continued on their winning ways completing 3 in a row Minor Hurling Titles 2 of which were named after a local Abbeydorney and Kerry Hurler Jimmy Walker on Thursday night last. Abbeydorney took the lead from a well worked move from middle of the field when Brian O'Leary sent the ball over the bar from right half back, PJ Keane. Darragh O'Connell and Simon Egan added points for Abbeydorney while Causeway's Colm Harty added 2 points from play when Causeway were playing against a stiff cross breeze and were attacking in waves. Abbeydorney concede a penalty at this stage and Colm Harty who was Causeway's main play maker and scorer brought Causeway into the lead for the first time with a good goal. 5 points from Darragh O'Connell and 1 each from Brian O'Leary Simon Egan and Brian Leen left Causeway ahead at Half Time 1-12 to 1-3.
The second half continued with Abbeydorney having to play against the stiff breeze and a number of changes being made at half time with Abbeydorney dominating the opening stages with some well taken points 4 from Tommy Hayes, Brian O'Leary, Darragh O'Connell and Tommy Hayes who had moved to full forward which gave Abbeydorney the ideal start to the second half. PJ Keane had moved into centre back and was dominating every ball and provided the ideal ball to the forward line. Causeway kept plugging away at the scores and were denied a goal with a good reflex save from Liam Cleary O'Dorneys keeper over the cross bar.
Referee Tom Godley kept the game well under control when both teams were penalized for fouling. Abbeydorney introduced a number of subs at this stage and kept the score to a minimum further points from Tommy Hayes before Darragh O'Connell finished with 2 points from frees on himself.

Credit Union County Junior Hurling League Div 3A: Lixnaw 0-17 Abbeydorney 0-6 Venue Lixnaw Wednesday June 27th

The Junior team put in a very poor effort on Wednesday night last in Lixnaw with a lot of players missing. After a good performance the previous week this could be costly at the end of the league; 3 points in the first half  from Damien Ryall, Ian Maunsell, David Doyle, while Lixnaw scored 7 points in the first half. Abbeydorney were under severe pressure throught this half and were lucky not to concede  a goal or two in the first half .

The second half went all Lixnaw's way with 10 points from Padraig Fitzmaurice, Robert Wallace, and Thomas Boyd while Abbeydorney added 3 points from David Doyle, Ian Maunsell, Joe McCarthy.Subs David Clifford for David Doyle.

Best scores: David Doyle 2 points from his solo runs through Lixnaw's defence.

North Kerry Senior League: Ballyheigue 0-13  Abbeydorney 0-8 Venue Ballyheigue Friday June 29th

Abbeydorney travelled to Ballyheigue on Friday night last with a depleted outfit. Abbeydorney led at the interval by 1 point 0-4 to 0-3, the first score coming 15 minutes into the first half with scores hard to come by from both sides. Ballyheigue scores came from Ned Flahive and Mark Dineen (0-2), Abbeydorney lost their midfield player Brian O'Leary with a back injury and this was to prove costly for the black and amber team.

Ballyheigue added 10 points in the second half from Damien Casey (0-2), Colm Griffin, Ronan Kenny (0-4) Kevin Mahoney and Ned Flahive (0-2) while Abbeydorney added 4 points from Ian Maunsell (0-2) Brian O'Donovan (0-2).

Best scores from Abbeydorney players Brian O'Leary and Brian O'Donovan and Ballyheigues best scores came from Ronan Kenny.

Both Teams agreed to play 11 aside due to players away on holidays. St Brendans were well ahead at half time up
2-8 to 0-3, Abbeydorney's scores coming from Brian Leen  (0-2) and Daniel O'Mahoney(0-1) , St Brendans scores coming from Stephen Leen (1-5), Donal MacKessy (1-1) Seamus Skinner (0-1).

Abbeydorney battled much better in the second half with a good display from brothers Daniel and Alex O'Mahoney Mike O'Leary and Stephen O'Connor and Brian Leen. St Brendans scored 1-3 in the second half, Gearoid Silles
