Joe McCarthy opened Abbeydorney's score with a well taken free from 45 yards out, and midfielder Brian O'Leary added 2 points from play when Bill Maunsell rattled Crotta's net for a goal for Abbeydorney. Crotta added 4 points before H/T with good hurling from Ian McCarthy, Joe McCarthy and David Doyle finished with 2 points for Abbeydorney at H/T to leave Abbeydorney ahead 1-5 to 0-4.
The second half started in a lively fashion with Brendan Mahoney getting 3 points and young Richard Claffey getting good point for Crotta, Abbeydorney had points from Damien Ryall Bill Maunsell (0-2), David Doyle (0-2) Brian O'Leary

This was a high scoring minor league game at Lixnaw pitch on Thursday evening last with PJ Keane scoring 2-1 in the opening minutes. The Junior team put in a very poor effort on Wednesday night last in Lixnaw with a lot of players missing. After a good performance the previous week this could be costly at the end of the league; 3 points in the first half from Damien Ryall, Ian Maunsell, David Doyle, while Lixnaw scored 7 points in the first half. Abbeydorney were under severe pressure throught this half and were lucky not to concede a goal or two in the first half .

Abbeydorney led at the interval by 1 point 0-4 to 0-3, the first score coming 15 minutes into the first half with scores hard to come by from both sides. Ballyheigue scores came from Ned Flahive and Mark Dineen (0-2), Abbeydorney lost their midfield player Brian O'Leary with a back injury and this was to prove costly for the black and amber team.
