The Abbeydorney Team at the North Kerry U10 Blitz

North Kerry U10 Hurling Blitz played in Causeway on Saturday last in perfect conditions in an open draw, Abbeydorney lost heavily in the second half to Crotta O'Neill's and in their second game against Ballyheigue B thy won on a score 4-0 to 1-0, Duagh were Abbeydorney 3rd game team and Abbeydorney won that game 0-9 to 1-6.

North Kerry Senior League (rd2): St Brendan's 1-21,   Abbeydorney 3-7 Venue Ardfert Sunday June 24th
The second round of the North Kerry League was played on Sunday afternoon with St Brendan's team looking the livelier team up 0-4 to no score 0-3 coming from Tim Hannifin and 0-1 from John Paul Leen. Ian Maunsell pointed Abbeydorney's opening free which was followed by a penalty on Tony Maunsell who was drafted into the forward line which was converted by Brian Beano O'Donovan. Tim Hanafin finished the first half with 0-5 and Tom Mahoney 0-1 and Darren Dineen 0-2 while Tony Maunsell and Brian Beano O'Donovan added 2 more goals with  a goal being disallowed before half time to leave only 0-1 between the the teams.
St Brendan's started the better team with points from 0-4 and John Paul Leen 0-1 and Tom Mahoney 0-2 and Pat Donegan 1-1 while Abbeydorney could only manage 0-5 from Nigel Roche 0-2, bIan Maunsell 0-1 and Tony Maunsell and Barry Sheehan 0-1.

Kingdom Greyhound Night at the Dogs in aid of Abbeydorney GAA Pitch Development
On Saturday night last our GAA Club Development Committee ran a very successful night at the dogs at Kingdom Greyhound Stadium with a large attendance with plenty good races on the night. Thanks to all our Race Sponsors advertisers, nominators, Dog owners and all who donated hampers on the night also John Ward Track Manager and Staff at Kingdom Greyhound Stadium. All Funding raised will be used to develop our playing facilities at Abbeydorney for all our sporting youth of our parish. North Kerry Senior League (rd1) Kilmoyley 1-14 Abbeydorney 0-12 Venue Lerrig Saturday 16th
The 2007 North Kerry League commenced on Saturday with all County Players not allowed play with their Clubs in this Competition. Kilmoyleys free taker Brendan Harris penalized Abbeydorneys defence with some costly mistakes in the first half. Kilmoyley led at H/T 0-9 to 0-4. Ian Maunsell (0-3) and Barry Sheehan was unlucky not to get a goal after breaching Kilmoyleys defence (0-1).
Abbeydorney added 8points in the second half from Ian Maunsell (0-6) and Beano O'Donovan, Brian O'Leary (0-1) each while Kilmoyleys Brendan Harris added (0-4f ) and Michael Regan( 0-1).
Referee: Alex Morrissey Tralee.
 
Cancellations: Please note U14 County League game vs Ballyheigue was cancelled due to Feile na nGael U14 Competition in Killkenny and Carlow,
Congratulations to Shane Dunne Ballyheigue who came second over-all in skills Competition and winning the Christy Ring Skills Award.
 
North Kerry U10 Ground Hurling Blitz will be held at Causeway on Saturday June 23rd starting at10.30am. All teams will be entered in an open draw to decide the groupings. Teams are 10 a-side and ground hurling rules apply.

North Kerry U12 Hurling Blitz  ( Pat Joe O'Conner Memorial Shield )
Abbeydorney were grouped with Crotta, Ballyduff, and Duagh on Bank Holiday Monday last with their first game vs Crotta which Abbeydorney won on a score 2-0 to 4-0. Abbeydorney played their second game in the upper pitch at Ballyduff with the grass too high for U12 Blitz for ground hurling. Duagh defeated Abbeydorney and Ballyduff won the final match 
 
County U12 Hurling League S/Final Kilmoyley 8-4 Abbeydorney 1-3 Venue Lerrig Friday 8th
Kilmoyley were the better team throughout this U12 hurling league Semi Final at Lerrig on Friday evening last with Kilmoyley's Jordan Brick in top form and  were ahead at half time 4-1 to 1-3. Abbeydorneys scores came from Michael O'Leary 1-2 and Stevie O'Sullivan 0-1.
Kilmoyley added 5-3 to 0-0 in the second half but credit to Abbeydorney's young team, they kept  trying right through this match.

This will be an ideal family night with 2 Bouncing Castles for all the young children. Local Musicians will be playing on the night to give us plenty entertainment through the night.
