North Kerry Senior Hurling League: Abbeydorney 1-7 Causeway 0-7 Venue Abbeydorney.
Abbeydorney played against a stiff breeze in the first half and Tim Fealy had O'Dorney's first point from free, and Padraig Harty had 2 points from play and a free with both teams trying to cope with the strong breeze, Causeway's Stephen Goggin added a well taken point from the side line followed by a point from John Fitzgerald. Abbeydorney worked the ball well up the field from a free by Aidan Healy from O'Dorney's Halfback line to deliver to Damien Ryall who flicked it onto Tim Fealy for O'Dorneys Goal with Causeway responding with a point from Stephen Goggin.
Half Time scores: Causeway 0-6 Abbeydorney 1-1.
Abbeydorney added points from Tim Fealy 2 frees and 2 more points from Kieran Dineen who had moved to full forward and Mike Hannifin and Tim Fealy pointed free before Causeway got the final score from by John Fitzgerald with a point to leave just 3 points the the difference between the teams.
Referee was Diarmuid Carroll Ballyduff who had full complements of Umpires.

Abbeydorney young Under 12 hurlers suffered their second defeat in this under 12 hurling league on Friday night last with a good performance from Niall O'Mahoney at centre back also Ronan O'Donovan,Cian McCarthy, and very young promising player was Michael Slattery.

2008 County Junior Hurling Championship Final: St Brendan's 3-12, Abbeydorney 0-11 Venue Abbeydorney 22nd March
The long awaited County Junior Hurling Championship for 2008 was finally played on Sunday 22nd March with a very lively start with Brian Egan scoring a point for St Brendan's and Barry Sheehan responded with a point at the other end.Both sides were very depentant on their free takers with Tim Fealy keeping ODorney in touch with 5 pointed frees and St Brendan's Tim Hannifin scoring 4 frees also Ger Leen had 2 well taken points for ardfert.With Jason Fealy and Barry Sheehan adding 2 more fore Abbeydorney. St Brendan's were awarded a close in free and Tim Hannifin made no mistake and he rattled the net for st Brendan's in the 20th minute but ODorney were to suffer a second blow with a long range free going all the way to the net.
St Brendan's had a good start to the second half with a point from Ger Leen to give them a 7 point advantage with Tim Fealy adding a further 3 points in the second half for ODorney but the Black and Amber boys could not recover the first half damage with 2 goals.
After the final whistle Joe Walsh, Hurling Officer for Kerry presented the Junior Trophy to Maurice Kearney the Corner back who even added a point from midfield. well done to all concerned.Abbeydorneys best players were Fergal Roche, Paul and Bernard McElligott and Barry Sheehan.

Crotta O'Neill's were much too strong for Abbeydorney on Friday night last with a much more balanced side and some fine hurlers coming through the ranks.

Garry Scollard Memorial Hurling Blitz

Kerry U16 Hurlers lost their opening game to Shandon of Cork on a score 1.6 to O.11pts and won the next game vs.East Waterford on a score 2.4 to 1.3 and they played West Limerick in the B Final in the IT Tralee pitch and lost in extra time on a score 3.10 to Kerry's 2.9. Local Players were Stephen O'Connor and Daniel O'Leary.

Cork Premier Minor Hurling League

Kerry Defeated Newtownshandrum on a score Kerry 2-15 Newtownshandrum 1-10 in Abbeydorney Underlights with Stephen O'Connor and Daniel OMahoney the local players for Abbeydorney also Kerry are due to play their next game next Friday at a Kerry venue keep in touch with your clubs officers re-venue.

County U14 Hurling League: Crotta/ Duagh 5-6, Abbeydorney 4-2 Venue Abbeydorney
Abbeydorney and Duagh/ Crotta had their first U14 Hurling match on today Sunday at 12 noon with plenty goals to keep the spectators happy. Oisín Mangan Crotta/Duagh scored 2 goals in the 7th and 23rd minute to give them a comfortable lead at half time 2-3 to 0-2 with O'Dorneys 2points coming from Michael O'Leary,
Crotta/Duagh got the second half off to a good start with a good goal from Raymond Nolan but Michael O'Leary replied with a Goal at the other end for Abbeydorney. Crotta rallied well in the second half adding 2 more goals and David Egan struck for a well taken goal midway through the second half with Michael O'Leary top scorer for Abbeydorney 3-2.

A Referees Course run by the NKHB will commence on Monday 30th March and continue on Thursday 2nd, Monday 6th and Tuesday 14th April. All-Ireland Vocational Schools A Hurling Final
: Causeway Comprensive 2-8 Banagher 1-7 Venue Limerick Saturday 7th March
Causeway Comprensive Schools created history on Saturday last with a 4 point win over Banagher College. Causeway reached 5 finals over the years and lost the most recent Senior final in 2001 and lost U16 A Finals to Gort C.C. by (2 points), Loughrea C.C. (3points) and Athenry by (9 points) in 1991, 1997, 2000.
Causeway Schools played with the aid of a strong breeze in the first half and put up 2-6 on the score board with the lively Shane Dunne from Ballyheigue causing plenty problems for the Banagher players with a goal in the opening minutes when he slipped behind the Banagher defense and a long range free was deflected into the net by Muris Delaney with Causeway defending well with Douglas Fitzell and Mark Regan playing very well while up front Tim O'Brien, Shane Dunne and Kilmoyley's Daniel Collins caused plenty problems .
In the second half Banagher added 1-1 to Causeway's 0-2 points to leave the match tight right to the finish with Daniel Collins point from play on the run the best score of the match with Causeway holding out to win their first ever All-Ireland A Hurling Title.
Sean Fogarty presented the cup to Causeways Captain Chris McCarthy from Abbeydorney after the game, All clubs were paid a visit from the Causeway team on Saturday evening with Mike Keefe Ballinclogher Chief Fire Officer for the area giving the team an escorted trip to Abbeydorney with his new firebrigade and Frank Egan welcomed the team and Officials and supporters from all clubs to Abbeydorney, Willie Dowling and Maurice Leahy and Captain Chris McCarthy paid tribute to this team on their first ever win in this competition which augurs well for the future and thanked all the supporters for getting behind the team.

: Abbeydorney 2-8 Ballyheigue 1-11 Venue Abbeydorney Friday 6th March
Abbeydorney and Ballyheigue Seniors had the first game under lights in Abbeydorney on Friday Night last with a very good turn out of spectators for this match. Abbeydorney played well enough in the first having been down before half time 1-7 to 0-4 with Ballyheigue goal coming from a blockdown on O'Dorneys keeper by Ned Flahive while Abbeydorney were very much reliant on Tim Fealy's free taking to keep them in touch.
Ballyheigue increased their lead to 7pts when Kieran Dineen goaled at the other end, Brian O'Leary and Brian O'Donovan had O'Dorneys only 2 points from play with Tim Fealy denied his first chance at goals but he made no mistake on his second attempt to level the game. Abbeydorney were with out a sub for this game with a lot of players out through illness and injurys.
