Setting the grass seeds late on Saturday evening
GAA Pitch Development 2007: The final preparations of the Pitch Developments went ahead with excellent weather conditions for levelling the sand. Late on Saturday Allman Contractors worked till late at night to set the grass seeds, Please note our next Development Meeting will be held on Thursday May 31st May, All Ticket sellers  are requested to attend this meeting starting at 9.30pm
 
North Kerry U11B Championship Final: Ballyduff 15-6 Abbeydorney 8-5 Venue Lixnaw Tuesday 22nd
Ballyduff were well ahead of Abbeydorney in the opening stages of this North Kerry U11B Championship Frank Kissane Memorial Shield  Match up 3 Goals in the first Quarter. Michael O'Leary was working very hard at centre back to keep Ballyduff scores down. Ballyduff lead at H/T 7-1 to 3-1.
Abbeydorney tried harder in the second half with 5 Goals from Michael O'Leary but Ballyduff had the more balanced team to win this final.
Best Player: Michael O'Leary 8-4 and was well assisted by Steve O'Sullivan and Anthony Rigney at Full Back.

Credit Union County Senior Hurling League: Ballyheigue 2-12 Abbeydorney 2-8 Venue Ballyheigue Saturday May 26th
Abbeydorney lost 2 valuable points in this County League Game at John Joe O'Sullivan Park on Saturday evening with Ballyheigue's Kevin O'Mahoney and Ronan Kenny getting 2 goals in the first Quarter. Abbeydorney were playing catch up from here on with a young Ballyheigue side ahead at the interval 2-5 to 0-6.
Abbeydorney only added 2points in the second half and 2 goals from Barry Sheehan and Ian Maunsell while Ballyheigue added 6 points at the other end. Abbeydorney will want to forget this match very fast and re-group after a very bad start to this match.

Abbeydorney Seniors remained on top points of the Credit Union County Hurling League after their win over Lixnaw in a closely contested game in Lixnaw on Sunday Afternoon. Ivan McCarthy had Abbeydorney's opening point after 10 minutes of play and 3 pointed frees from Ian Maunsell and points from Barry Sheehan,David Doyle and Brian O'Donovan kept the scores level at half time with Lixnaws (1-3) scores coming from Michael Conway 1-0, Fergus Fitzmaurice,Kieran Dowling,James Flaherty 0-1 each.
Abbeydorney added 5 points in the second half with 3 good points from Brian Beano O'Donovan on the trot and 2 points from Ivan McCarthy and Lixnaw replied with 4 points from Michael Conway 0-1 and James Flaherty

Sand ready to be applied to GAA pitch
Progress was made this week with sand  transported onto the pitch last week and ready to be leveled out all over the surface this week.
Tickets sales and Advertisements are moving nicely with members of the Development Committee calling on all householders last week.

Excavating the main drain

GAA Pitch Development News: The Pitch was drained this week with perimeter drains and Inspection Chamber  put in place. Collector drains and Gravel Slits were also installed and washed pea gravel topping up each Gravel Slit. The Next Development Meeting will be Held on Friday May 25th at 9.30pm. If anyone wants to help out in any way please come along on the night. Ticket sellers will be calling to all houses in the locality in the coming weeks to raise funds for this pitch development.

North Kerry U16 B Championship Hurling League: Abbeydorney had an easy win over Duagh on Bank Holiday Monday last. Duagh battled hard throughout this match but Abbeydorney were the more balanced team.

Abbeydorney Seniors will rue missed chances  in this vital league game in Ardfert on Friday night last when St Brendan's John Egan Struck for a brilliant goal in the dying minutes of this game. Tim Hannifin kept St Brendan's in touch all through this match with 7 Points from frees while John Egan had St Brendan's 2 goals. At The other end Kieran Hannifin was Abbeydorney's danger man with some hazy runs and Ian Maunsell 8 points from Frees. Barry Sheehan, Ivan McCarthy, Beano Donovan had a point Each. North Kerry Junior League Final: Abbeydorney 3-12 Causeway 2-7 Venue Ardfert Saturday 5th
Abbeydorney made no mistake with this years final after losing to Causeway in the same final last year with a good team performance from all the Junior Players. Bill Maunsell and Stephen Goggin had goals at each end to finish level at H/T 1-4  apiece. Tim Fealy (0-2) Damien Ryall and David Nolan (0-1) Each.
In the second half Abbeydorney were slow to get going playing with the stiff breeze when Ian Maunsell drove a long ball which hit  a rough patch in the ground and bounced to the roof of the net which was the turning point of the game. Greg Fealy pulled off some excellent saves in the second half to deny a Causeway comeback. Ian Maunsell (0-5f), Ger Brassil (0-2) and David Nolan (0-1).
