AGM Notice
Abbeydorney GAA Club Annual General Meeting will be held on Sunday December 2nd at 2.30pm. All Nominations and Motions papers will be posted to all Club Members and must be returned to Club Secretary by Sunday 11th November 2007.
 
Reminder: GAA Club 6 Monthly Draw will be held next Sunday 4th November. Please have Draw books in by 9pm at the Clubhouse bar.
 
Kerry Scor
The Kerry Scor AGM takes place at The Pavilion in Tralee on 6th November at 8pm. Dates have been set for the semi finals and the County Final of Scor na nOg.
On Friday November 16th the Semi Final for the North Kerry takes place in Abbeydorney Community Hall while on Saturday November 17th the second Semi Final for South Kerry will be staged in Dromid.
The County Final takes place on Sunday 9th December in the Gleneagle Hotel Killarney.

Mass for Deceased GAA Members will be held on November 26th. More details later.

3 Ó Sé Brothers make history with All-Star Awards Marc ,Tomás and Darragh

2007 GAA Vodafone  Football All-Stars Award
Kerry receive 6 All-stars Marc, Tomás, and Darragh Ó Sé, Aidan O'Mahoney, Declan O'Sullivan, and Colm Cooper.
Marc Ó Sé was named the Footballer of the Year and Dan Shanahan Waterford  was named Hurler of the Year. Young Footballer of the Year went to Killian Young and Young Hurler of the Year went to Seamus Hickey Limerick

North Kerry Senior Hurling Championship Ballyheigue 1-11 Abbeydorney 1-10 Venue Lerrig Sunday 21st October
The long awaited NK Senior Hurling Championship got under way at Lerrig with perfect conditions for hurling with Lixnaw giving Causeway a Walk/Over in the opening game. Kieran O'Connell opened Abbeydorney's score from a well worked move after 5 minutes of play, Aidan Healy added another from long range solo run  when Michael Boxer Slattery levelled the scores from frees. Ballyheigue were awarded a free midway through the first half when the keeper miss hit the sliotar and the ball was worked into Beano Donovan who rattled the net at close range, and points from Kieran Dineen, Aidan Healy and Ivan McCarthy  gave Abbeydorney the lead at H/T 1-5 TO 0-5.
Brian Beano O'Donovan was Abbeydorney's target man at full forward  when he added 3 points from play and a point from Kieran O'Connell and Ivan McCarthy gave Abbeydorney 1-10 to 0-5 lead. Ballyheigue kept adding the points with Diarmuid Walsh striking 2 long range points and Boxer Slattery scoring 3 Points and Gerry Crean getting their last point. Ballyheigue were awarded a 25 meter free when Abbeydorney keeper was coming out with the ball and Ballyheigue were in arrears by 2 Points when Michael Boxer Slattery's good shot was deflected into the net to give Ballyheigue that 1 Point win in extra time .

County Minor B Championship 13 aside:   Causeway 2-10 Abbeydorney 2-9 Venue Lerrig Saturday 13th October
Abbeydorney Minors battled well even though they were missing a number of players for most of this match at Lerrig on Saturday afternoon, 3 points from Darragh O'Connell and points from Tommy Hayes and Padraig Kelly left Abbeydorney trailing by 0-5 to 0-6 with Abbeydorneys Liam Cleary pulling off some good saves through the first half,
In the Second half Causeway had built up a 5 point lead midway through the second half after getting a goal when they were reduced to 12 players. Abbeydorney introduced 3 Players who were late coming to the match  and this made a big difference to the team bringing Causeway back to a point and with O'Dorneys last chance with a minute left Darragh O'Connell was unlucky with last chance of a point, Abbeydorneys goals came from Brian O'Leary and Simon Egan

Two goals by Ballyheigue at vital times kept the seasiders ahead at H/Time 2-6 to 1-1 with ODorneys Goal coming from Andrew Egan and a point from Daniel O'Leary, Shane Dunne Ballyheigue struck for a well taken goal just before half time and was their top scorer (1-8)
Abbeydorney improved in the Second Half with Brendan O'Leary, Chris McCarthy and Stephen O'Connor playing very well at Centre back, Andrew Egan and Daniel O'Leary battled  well at midfield. Abbeydorney kept coming at Ballyheigue and brought them back to 4pts with Andrew Egan scoring his Second goal, Points from Daniel O'Leary
(0-3). Stephen O'Connor and Daniel O'Mahoney. Abbeydorney's Best Player was Stephen O'Connor.
After the game Joe Walsh presented the  Edmund Flahive Trophy to Ballyheigue's Captain Tommy O'Mahoney.
