Harty Cup
Kerry Minor Hurlers were defeated last Wednesday in Newcastlewest by St Flannans; local player Chris McCarthy at full back

County Under 21 Hurling Championship: Kilmoyley 3-14 Abbeydorney 1-9 Venue Lerrig on Saturday 10th October.
Abbeydorney were up in the first half of this Under 21 County Championship with a goal coming from corner forward Tommy Hayes in the 15th minute with a nice flick on from a free to leave Kilmoyley keeper no chance with this deflection and a side line cut by Brian Leen which went over the bar for a fine point with O'Dorney ahead 1-6 to Kilmoyleys 0-7 with 5 points from Andy McCarthy and Edmund Fitzell and Adrian Ryle 1 each while O'Dorney had Darragh O'Connell 0-3 Brian Leen 0-2 and Tommy Hayes 1-1 in the first half.
Kilmoyley rattled the net straight after the break from John B O'Halloran but O'Dorney just had Kilmoyley back to 3 points behind when a mistake in the full back line had another goal for Kilmoyley on the 23rd minute and Kilmoyely added 0-3 from Andy McCarthy and 0-2 from Edmund Fitzell and Adrian Ryle 0-1 and a third goal from Conor Fitzell to finish the game. This was a poor second half performance from Abbeydorney with a lot of players not getting into the game and made very little effort for the entire second half.

Abbeydorney 1-14 Ballyheigue 3-7 Venue Abbeydorney
Abbeydorney and Ballyheigue contested the Final of the North Kerry Under 15 Championship (Edmund Flahive Memorial) on Saturday evening last with Abbeydorney down 2-4 to Abbeydorneys 0-5 with points from Michael O'Leary 0-1 and Stevie OSullivan 0-2 and Brendan O'Leary 0-2 at half time.
In the second half Abbeydorney lads kept adding points from Brendan O'Leary 0-7 and Mike O'Leary 0-1 with Ballyheigue adding their third goal to leave a tight finish and Michael O'Leary block down which resulted in a goal for the Black and amber boys when we badly needed a goal.
Two points by Steve O'Sullivan and Brendan O'Leary levelled the scores but one last shot by Brendan O'Leary with his strike going over the bar for a winning point.
Best Players were Tom Blonde McElligott, Sean Quirke, Brendan O'Leary and Steve O'Sullivan and Sean O'Mahoney, and we have to mention both keepers who had good saves but Ballyheigue will have up and coming player for the next few years with young lively Paudie Carroll having a stormer of a game for Ballyheigue.
