ESB All-Ireland Minor Football Championship Replay: Roscommon 1-10 Kerry 0-9 Venue Cusack Park Ennis 23rd Sept

Crotta O'Neill's Eddie Hayes Memorial Ground Hurling Blitz was held on Saturday 23rd Sept with Abbeydorney paired in Div 1 and Played Duagh in the first game and winning 0-3 to 0-0. In the second game Abbeydorney played Kenmare and won that game 2-3 to no score. In the final they played Dingle and Abbeydorney went into a lead at half time 1-2 to no score. The second half was all Abbeydorney way with the young players playing great hurling all through the tournament adding another goal in and claiming the Eddie Memorial Cup for the 4th Time. Full Credit to Crotta O'Neill's Club for such a well organised tournament and and Catering Staff for all the refreshments thought the morning. Abbeydorney team was captained by Barry Horgan and O'Dorney team were without a sub for the tournament.

Both teams ended up level at Half time with 4 points a piece from Nigel Roche and Darragh O'Connell 0-2 each and 3 points from Andy McCarthy and 1 point from Adrian Ryle.The Second half Kilmoyley added 2 points and then got the vital goal which put them 5 points ahead and Abbeydorney were trying to catch up from here on. Nigel Roche scored O'Dorneys only point in the second half and Kilmoyley added 4 points in the last quarter

Abbeydorney team travelled to Ballyheigue for this vital round in the Senior League missing a number of regulars and they the took a long time to get settled. Down 6 points to 2 at half time with the scores coming from Kieran Dineen and Joe McCarthy. The second half Ballyheigue pulled away from Abbeydorney with Goals from Christy O'Sullivan and Gerry Crean and Kieran Dineen struck for a goal for O'Dorney. Abbeydorney were hand-passing the ball instead of direct ball into the forward line which cost them dearly in the end and they could have drawn this match.

Abbeydorney GAA Club wins 3 Titles over the week with the Minors taking the Jimmy Walker Shield, and the U13 Taking the Michael O'Connell Shield and the Junior Team taking the Div 3 Cup on Sunday and also the Ladies Football team receiving a walkover in the Senior County Championship on Saturday
North Kerry U13 Championship Final Michael O'Connell Shield: Abbeydorney 1-13 Lixnaw 2-4 at Lixnaw Wed 6th Sept Abbeydorney U13 Team won the Michael O'Connell Shield on Wednesday night with a brilliant display from Daniel O'Leary 1-8 and Stephen O'Conner 0-4 and Stephen Egan 0-1 at H/T ODorney led by 1-7 to 1-1 and Lixnaw battled to the end even though they lost their fullback through injury.

The Junior team had a good win on Sunday morning with a very tough battle with St Brendan's with the game going into Extra time. The teams ended up level at full time with the score 2-6 to 1-9. In Extra time it was David Doyle and Der Lawor and Tom O'Connell and a brilliant save by our keeper Seamus Cronin to keep us ahead when frees were exchanged at both ends.

Div 3 County Junior League: Abbeydorney 1-16 Causeway 1-6 Venue Lixnaw 29th August
Abbeydorney qualified for the final of the Div 3 County Junior league after defeating Causeway on Tuesday night last with a very good performance from Tom O'Connell at full forward and David Doyle at midfield. Abbeydorney were up 1-9 to 0-3. In the second half Mark Callaghan kept O'Dorney in the lead with good free taking, and good work performance from Der Lawler , David Fahy and Goalie Seamus Cronin. O'Dorney held out to win this match comfortably. The final is down for next Sunday 10th against St Brendan's.

Abbeydorney were much too strong for Duagh on Thursday evening last with Stephen O'Connor outstanding at centre back and Daniel O'Leary at Midfield and Michael O'Leary at Centre Forward. Abbeydorney led at H/T
2-9 to 0-2. O'Dorney took complete control in the second half.

County Minor Hurling A Championship: Abbeydorney 4-8 Causeway 3-7 Venue Abbeydorney Thursday 31st August Both teams were due to play in the North Kerry Minor Final but the Minor Hurling Championship took precedence over the North Kerry Final. Abbeydorney started well with a well taken point from Darragh O'Connell, Nigel Roche sent over a 65 yard free and Simon Egan rattled the net for O'Dorney 1-2 to 0-0. Causeway came at Abbeydorney in waves in the last fifteen minutes and scored 7 points when Simon Egan struck for his second goal before H/T O'Dorney 2-2 Causeway 0-7.
The second half was a ding dong battle between both teams with score for score being registered at both ends, Nigel Roche sent over a 65 yard free when Causeway lobbed a high ball into O'Dorney full back line and went into the net. From the puck out Jason Dowling rattled the net at the other end with a well taken goal. PJ keane was operating around midfield and scored a good point out 70 yards. Causeway kept up the momentum with a good goal. Brian Leen scored a great point after good work by PJ Keane from 50yards out and Keane was moved to full forward a he had the finishing touch goal from a high ball. Causeway never gave up and were awarded a free from 30 yards out and struck for a goal, Padraig Kelly scored a great goal from a pass from Simon Egan in the 20th minute.
