History of Féile na Gael
A history of Féile na Gael hurling is being compiled. Anybody who participated as a player, selector, coach manager, referee and supporter who has any old photographs, programmes etc and would like them included please contact Seamus Regan on 0878329792. All material will be copied and given back. Also any person with any funny stories or tales from those trips I would love to hear from you.

Garveys Super Valu Senior County Championship
Crotta O'Neill's will play Ballyduff on Sunday 16th October in the Senior County Championship Final, Crotta defeated Ballyheigue 0-10 to 0-6 and Ballyduff held on to win in the end of a double header at Austin Stacks Park 0-17 to 1-12.

Keanes Super Valu Minor Hurling Championship
Abbeydorney/Crotta O'Neill's will play Ballyheigue on Saturday next 1st October @ 4.30pm in Austin Stacks Park Tralee.

North Kerry Under 8 Hurling Blitz
The North Kerry under 8 Hurling Blitz will be held in Abbeydorney starting next Thursday 29th September for three weeks on Thursdays @ 7.30pm

Minor Hurling Championship
Abbeydorney will play Ballyheigue on Saturday 1st October. Time and venue to be confirmed.

County Under 16 Hurling league: Ballyheigue 4-13 Abbeydorney 4-9
A high scoring match in Abbeydorney on Monday evening last Abbeydorney were behind at half time 1-07 to 2-03 scores coming from Michael O'Leary 1-05 and John Shanahan 1pt.
Ballyheigue added 2-10 in the second half to Abbeydorneys 3-2. Tom McElligott scored the first goal and Michael O'Leary added two goals and two points from Stephen O'Sullivan

Jason Bowler Kerry Under 21 Captain

Bord Gais Energy All-Ireland Under 21 Hurling Final: Kerry 0-16,
Westmeath 1-09

Well done to the Kerry under 21 hurlers who defeated Westmeath on Saturday to claim a three in a row in Under 21 Hurling Titles.

Kerry were ahead at half time 0-9 to 0-7 but missed a lot of chances from frees and play.

Scores came from Shane Nolan 0-5 Darragh O'Connell, Ronan Kenny, Brendan Brosnan, and PJ Connolly 1 pt each.

Shane Nolan turned in a Man Of Match performance scoring 0-11 points and Kerry held out to win in the end with a very good save from Martin Stackpoole and some good deflections to deny Westmeath in the closing stages and Jason Bowler Kerry Captain was presented with the Under 21 Trophy after the match.

Abbeydorney club had James O'Connor, Darragh O'Connell, Brian Leen and PJ Keane.

Keanes Super Valu Minor Hurling Championship: Abbeydorney/ Crotta 2-9, Ballyduff 0-9
The minor hurling championship got under way in Ballyduff on Sunday morning last in very blustery conditions, Ballyduff took full advantage of the strong breeze a led at half time 0-6 to 0-3 with their scores coming from Pat Joe Connolly while O'Dorneys scores came from Michael O'Leary 0-2 and Tony Cunningham.
Two goals in the second half turned this game for O'Dorney/ Crotta side with the first coming from Michael O'Leary, and the second came from Jack Sheehan who set up Darren O'Sullivan for a very well taken goal.
Eric O'Connor kept Ballyduff in the game with his free taking and Abbeydorney responded with points from Michael O'Leary 0-3, Brendan O'Leary, Darren O'Sullivan and Stephen O'Sullivan 1 pt each.
Abbeydorney/ Crotta side will play Ballyheigue in the semi final stages of the Minor Hurling Championship at the end of September.

: Kilgarvan 5-13 Abbeydorney 3-05
Abbeydorney had alot of players missing for this game on Friday evening last in O'Dorney, Kilgarvan were ahead at the break 4-07 to 2-03 and Abbeydorney played very well despite missing so many players in the second half despite the score in the end with Mike Clifford, Caoimhe Spillane, Killian Spillane and Jack Sheehan playing very well and good saves from Shane Conway in the second half.

We had two good Challenge game with Under 12s and 15s having a game against Dripsey Cork on Saturday Morning last, Thanks to all the parents for their help with refreshments for the teams and Trainers.

Garveys Super Valu Senior County Hurling Championship Q/Final Crotta 2-15, Abbeydorney 2-14
Abbeydorney's first half performance let them down on Friday night last in very dark gloomy conditions at Austin Stacks Park. Crotta blitzed Abbeydorney scoring 2-10 to 0-5 before half time with Sean Weir and Shane Nolan and Crotta midfielders causing plenty problems.
In the second half Abbeydorney gave their supporters a lift coming back to draw the match on the stroke of time with Brian O'Donovan and Kieran Hanafin scoring goals and Darragh O'Connell scoring points. Both sides finished on 2-11 apiece with the match going into extra time and the lights having to be turned on in a very miserable night, both sides were level at the break in extra time 2-13 each before Cyril Lynch and Darragh O'Connell exchanged points. Abbeydorney gave away a silly free in the closing stages of extra time and this cost them in the end.
Draws for Semi Finals were made on Sunday:
Ballyheigue vs. Crotta and Ballyduff vs. Lixnaw on Sunday 25th September and the final on 16th October.

Early goals in the first half had Abbeydorney in serious trouble with Lixnaw scoring 5-06 to Abbeydorneys 1-03. Lixnaw finished the stronger in the final few minutes of the second half.
