Under 14 Football Match Report
Abbeydorney 4-4 Castlegregory 3-14
Our U 14 footballers played at home to Castlegregory on Monday 29th. March in the Lee Strand Co. League. We had a very poor first half which was dominated by Castlegregory and reflected by the score 2-10 to 0-0. At the restart of the second half we got better into the game due to a multitude of positional changes and substitutions with Darragh O Connell getting our first point and followed by a rocket of a goal by James O Connor and a fine point by Brian Leen. We where getting back into the game and playing good football proving that we where no walk over with Darragh scoring our second goal and Brian hitting the crossbar and immediately responding to the rebound and stuck it in the back of the net for a third goal. Castlegregory got a goal and four points to keep them ahead and again Darragh responded with a goal and two points keeping the pressure on them. An excellent second half was played by our boys and girls. Final score Castlegregory 3-14, Abbeydorney 4-4.
Team: PJ Keane Capt., Paul O'Connor, Daniel O'Leary, Darragh O'Connell (2-3), Brian Leen (1-1), James O'Connor (1-0), Chris McCarthy, Marion Cunningham, Imelda Hanley, Erin Sheehan, Ciara Neenan, Damian Hanley, Jason Fealy,
Subs: Stephen O'Connor for Marion Cunningham, Tara O'Sullivan for Erin Sheehan, Garry Baker for Damien Hanley, Nigel O'Brien for Chris McCarthy.
