A I B Senior Hurling Championship:  Abbeydorney  1-8  Crotta  0-9  Venue  Austin Stacks Park  Tralee      6-8-2005 Crotta dominated the early exchange in this County Championship fixture in  a very wet and misty dirty evening at Austin Stack Park. Points from Sean Toomey and Andrew Keane and were in complete control. Both  keepers were very busy pulling off some good saves under desperate conditions. Mike Hannifin slipped inside Crotta defense to slip a good goal past Brendan O'Mahoney Crotta keeper to bring Abbeydorney back into the game.

Half-time Crotta 0-7  O'Dorney 1-3.
Abbeydorney had the aid of a slight breeze in the second half with little between the teams; both teams struggled to take control of the game mostly  from frees. The turning point of this game was dismissal of Andrew Keane, Crotta midfielder who was having a good game but received a second yellow card. Abbeydorney team had the best score of the night from young Nigel Roche in front of the stand with a massive point from 70 yards to keep O'Dorney supporters in cheerful mood. Crotta were denied a chance of a goal in the closing stages when the sliotar hit the post much to O'Dorney relief.

North Kerry Minor League /Championship Final: Abbeydorney 1-12   Causeway 2-7   Venue Lixnaw    28-7-2005 Abbeydorney opened the score with a good point from PJ Keane and Causeway took over for the next 10 minutes scoring 1-3. O'Dorney upped the a gear with Nigel Roche and Conor Hayes mid field partnership and PJ Keane in the forward line. O'Dorney had good scores from Nigel Roche (0-4), Joe McCarthy, PJ Keane (1-2) to leave half-timet score Abbeydorney 1-7 Causeway 1-3. The second half continued to be a bigger struggle for the black and ambers boys playing against the breeze, some heavy defending by all the backs who started to play their best game of hurling so far this year with Nigel Roche and Conor Hayes at midfield driving great balls to the master PJ Keane in the forward line with 1-6 to his credit and Eoin Egan at fullback too strong for Causeway players and Nigel Roche's long range frees deserved  a mention.
(Footnote): Alot of confusion about this before this game being played left a lot of supports angry. Both teams travelled to Lixnaw on Thursday night and the referee also was there. Both teams agreed to play even though U16 hurlers were to play the weekend.
