A good team performance by the senior hurlers on Saturday night, the team took on St Brendans from the start and led at half time 2-7 to 1-4. Ian Maunsell struck for Abbeydorney goal from a 25 metre free but Ardfert struck back for a goal in the 20th minute and Kieran Hannafin responded with a goal at the other end and Tom O'Connell was causing lots of problems for Ardfert fullback line and Ivan McCarthy at midfield. Four points from Ian Maunsell and 1 point from David Doyle and Tom O'connell and Ivan McCarthy at half time. Abbeydorney kept up the pressure in the second half with points from Damien Ryall and 3 frees from Ian Maunsell and 2 good points from Kieran Hannafin and Ivan McCarthy.
