A.I.B County Senior Hurling Championship Semi Final: Abbeydorney 2-13 Ballyduff 1-8 Venue Austin Stack Park Tralee 18-9-2005
Abbeydorney Senior Hurlers are back into the Senior Hurling Championship Final after a fantastic victory over hot favourites Ballyduff in the first match of the semi final after 31 years waiting for a breakthrough when they last won in 1974. Goals in vital stages, one in the very start from a free from Ian Maunsell which deflected off Ballyduff keeper and one in the second half just after half time from Kieran Dineen kept Abbeydorney in the driving seat from start to finish. Abbeydorney's hunger could be seen from the start with some excellent hurling from every player which was a big improvement from the last 2 games in the Senior Championship and they lead at half time 1-6 to 1-4.
Abbeydorney started the livelier in the second half and never left Ballyduff dominate in any sector of the pitch. Kieran o Connell put in a very nice deflection in the second when Thomas o Rourke was heading for goals and sent it out for a 65yd free. Ian Maunsell was in top form with free-taking, scoring 1-7 and Kieran Hannafin 0-2 Ivan Maunsell 0-2 Brian o Donovan 0-1 and a mighty point from Aidan Healy from centre back. This was Abbeydorney's best game so far this year and well done to every player and they will have to repeat the same performance if they are to defeat Lixnaw in the final after they beat Causeway 4-8 to 3-21.

North Kerry U14B Championship Final (Todd Nolan Memorial Shield ): Crotta 3-10 Abbeydorney 1-3 at Ballyduff 1/9/05 Abbeydorney U14 Hurlers played the semi final of this competition on Monday last at their local pitch with a good win over Ballyheigue on a score Abbeydorney 4-8 Ballyheigue 4-7 with good scores from both sides.
The Final of this competition was played on Thursday evening 1st September on a well maintained Ballyduff pitch. Our young hurlers were up against a much stronger outfit from the start and had plenty chances in the first half but this young side always found the going tough with Brian Leen Abbeydorney's only scorer. This was a fitting competition for Crotta to win at under age as it was in memory of one of Crotta's greatest hurlers Todd Nolan.

A.I.B Senior Hurling Championship Abbeydorney 2-10 St Brendan's 3-2 Venue Austin Stack Park 3-9-2005 Abbeydorney Senior Hurlers reached the semi-final stages of the Senior Hurling Championship on Saturday night last
after defeating St Brendan's who had been O'Dorneys bogey team at Senior Championship for the last number of years. This match was a struggle from start to finish and Abbeydorney can count them selves lucky St Brendan's
were not on target in the first half with our backs playing well. St Brendan's scored a goal from a sideline cut which went straight to the net. Abbeydorney struck back with 2 goals from Kieran Hannafin and points from Tom O'Connell (0-2), and Mike Hannafin (0-2) Kieran Hannafin (0-1) Ian Maunsell (0-5 Frees) Abbeydorney will have to improve in all positions of the pitch if they are to have any hope against Ballyduff who had defeated County Champions Kilmoyley on Friday night. Much improvement is needed in our attack and midfield which failed to chase up after players in the first half more especially on Saturday night.
Team: Tommy O'Halloran, Robert Murphy, Tony Maunsell, Niall O'Connell, Nigel Roche, Aidan Healy, Kieran O'Connell, Ivan McCarthy, David Nolan, Kieran Dineen, Mike Hannafin, Ian Maunsell, Kieran Hannafin, Tom O'Connell, Brian O'Donovan.
